Jessica T. DePinto
Jessica has advised clients on various
customs and international trade regulatory issues including tariff
classification, valuation, country of origin determination and country
of origin marking. She advises clients in administrative proceedings
including enforcement proceedings, prior disclosures of violations,
requests for binding rulings, and antidumping scope determinations. She
has also advised clients in the area of export regulations. She has
lectured on U.S. import and export regulations to both U.S. and Italian
audiences.
Jessica is a member of the Illinois bar and is also admitted to practice
before the U.S. Court of International Trade, the U.S. District Court,
Northern District of Illinois.
Jessica is a member of the Illinois and Chicago Bar Associations and the
Justinian Society of Lawyers. She served as Chair of the Chicago Bar
Association’s Customs & International Trade Law Committee, after serving
as Vice Chair of that Committee in 2003-2004. She served as Chair of the
Illinois State Bar Association’s International and Immigration Law
Section Council (2003-2004) and also serves on the Illinois State Bar
Association Assembly (2000-2002; 2006). Jessica currently serves on the
Board of Directors of the International Trade Club of Chicago
(2000-present) and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Chicago
Academy for the Arts.
She is a graduate of the IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law (1996). Jessica
has a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and an M.A. from
Indiana University at Bloomington. She studied at the Universitá di
Bologna, Bologna Italy. In 1992, Jessica received a language perfection
certificate from the Universitá di Siena, Siena, Italy. She is fluent in
Italian, spoken and written.
